Taking advantage of the Fanastic NEW Designer Paper

paper advetures blog hop

Welcome and Thank you for joining me along the blog hop this evening, you would have just come from visiting the very creative Narelle Simm.

Tonight’s hop involves the new DSP from the Annual and Holiday Catalogues for 2017- 2018. After deciding which new DSP’s stood out to me I purchased quite a few along with a order of the all important coloured card stock. Let’s face it, with paper craft you can NEVER have enough paper!

I was trying my best to find the time to get more creative and expand my paper crafting but alas once again time has fallen short. However I still managed time to create some wonderful cards for my Obstertrians to say ‘Thank You’

For the first card I used the following products

* Rich Razzleberry card stock (C6 size)                                      * Paper trimmer

* Whisper White card stock (backing and inside insert)       * Stamp block

*Petal Garden DSP                                                                          * Double sided tape

* Rich Razzleberry Ink                                                                  * Chamios to clean stamps

* Me= Grateful stamp set

*  Pale Pink Ribbon (Non Stampin’ Up product)

For my second card creation I used the following products-

* Night of Navy card stock (C6 size)                                           * paper trimmer

* Daffodil Delight card stock (backing and inside insert)     * Stamp Block

* Delightful Daisy DSP                                                                  *  Chamois to clean stamps

* 2015-2017 In Colour Doilies~ Delightful Dijon (Clearance Rack- $4.20)

* Whisper White  card stock (small scrap piece)                   * Double sided tape

* Night of Navy Ink                                                                      * Circle stitched framelits

* Flourishing Phrases set 1 out of the 2

I hope you enjoyed my creations and Next up on the hop is Siobhan Fitzsimmons and her amazing project!

Thanks for visiting,

Three Draw Jewellery or Gift Box

Good evening,

I do hope you enjoyed our ‘Paper Adventures’ Team Blog Hop last night. I have been trying to do some different styles of paper craft and this creation was three days in the making (when I could find time between a waking baby and asleep.)

I discovered this idea through YouTube from the tutorial by Ann’s Happy Stampers- Beautiful Reinforced Jewellery/ Gift Box.

Although I didn’t follow the instructions completely (as I didn’t have all the materials I required) I had to adapt and decided to add different elements to it.

I hope you enjoy my cased creation  below!

For this product I have used a fair few products from the new annual catalogue and a couple of non Stamin’ Up! Items. Below is a list of what materials I have used

Basic Utensils

• Trimmer board, double sided tape, scissors, stamp blocks

Stampin’ Up! Items were

• Lots of Love hostess stamp set, stitched framelits, rich razzleberry, lemon lime twist and powder pink ink. Birthday memories DSP with Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight cardstock.

The non Stampin’ Up! Materials I have used are the blue ribbon and the round pearl circles.

I am keen to make this one again but want to follow the instructions a lot more clearly.

Thank you from Tall Journeys for checking out my blog and have a great weekend with friends and family,

Creativity joins together with the Host Stamp Sets

Welcome again to another Paper Adventures team blog hop with the theme being ‘hostess stamp sets.’

paper advetures blog hop

I haven’t done a current order through the new catalogues so you will have to bear with me whilst I use some of the retired sets. I have been able to use the new/ current DSP, inks and cardstock.

After having a bit of a break away to add the newest and littlest paper crafter ‘Eva’ to our team I haven’t had much of a chance or the energy to paper craft. But it has been lovely getting g back into Stampin and paper crafting, trying to find the time.

I have created two different paper craft products just to break up the cards I make and just to give that something extra to friends, family and gifts for strangers who become friends.

The first creation is a Christmas gift box which can be filled with chocolates or other goodies- I cased the idea through Pinterest from ‘Ribbons & Glue.com’ by Holly Gagnon. For this I used retired Christmas DSP ( 1 sheet of 12×12), scissors, paper trimmer, bone folder, double sided tape, stitched framelits, the hostess stamp set ‘Good Greetings’, Stampin blocks and fresh fig ink. I also used an odd black shoe lace (new) to keep the lid closed on each side.

IMG_6658The second lot of creations using another hostess set I have are below.

For these gift boxes I have used current cardstock, DSP, stitched framelits, the paper trimmer, double sided tape, the ‘Good Greetings’ and ‘Love You Lots’ stamp sets, along with the powder pink, berry burst, rich razzleberry, tranquil tide and fresh fig ink and stamping blocks. The non stampin’ Up! Items I have used are the pink ribbon and empty toilet rolls. I cased the idea for these from Pinterest created by Ilana from ‘Mommy Shorts’.

the bottom photo are the items I have used for all creations for tonight!

So thank you for stopping by Tall Journeys and now it is on to the fabulously creative Siobhan Fitzsimmons at High Tree Houses- just click the link below 😁

New Baby Arrival

What can I say,

who can resist a beautiful card to celebrate a gorgeous bundle of love that the stork dropped on the doorstep! As there have been a few babies been born of late I thought I would create something beautiful to match the beauty of babies and the love they give.

I found inspiration for this card just scrolling through Google images (not the DSP or colour cardstock mind you but the lay out of the card.)

Another colourful favourite of mine is the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP which is now retired, yet I still am able to find many uses for along with the corresponding stamp set.

The base colour cardstock used for this card is Calypso Coral with the word ‘BABY’ spelt out using a variety of coloured cardstock which includes- Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugar Plum, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

The butterflies have been cut out using the Butterfly punch in the colours of Flirty Flamingo and Bermuda Bay (which is a favourite colour of mine.) The butterflies and the letters (large alphabet framelits) have been stuck on with double sided tape, while the butterflies have the added touch of diamante’s (which I picked up from spotlight.)

The bottom fold n the left hand side I have a small circle stitched framelit with the sentiment made with love in the ink colour sweet sugar plum.

With the inside needing something to pop with colour I aligned it with Whisper White cardstock (on each section of the inside card). I also used the oval stitched framelits run through the big shot with the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP and whisper white cardstock. This provided me with a beautiful sentiment with ‘Congratulations’ from the Falling for You stamp set and also the stars from Tabs for Everything. The Inks used for the sentiment were Blushing Bride and Rich Razzleberry.

I hope you enjoy this blog and can gain a little inspiration off it! Apologies to the creator of this card layout design (as I have cased it but do not know the source, it is a fantastic design!)

Thanks for reading and let’s keep Stampin’

Small Card for the Bride

Welcome to an extended Blog addition from TallJourneys,

When the wedding season is upon us (which lets face it, can be all year round) it is always a nice touch to give something other then money for the wishing well or a gift that sometimes the couple getting married already have.

Another idea (along with a gift) is a hand made card or gift (Check out Kelly Kent at https://mypapercraftjourney.com/ – look her up on Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest for those who haven’t seen her creations yet! Kelly gifted some handmade thank you cards and a variety of things for a bride and groom.

In addition to wedding cards for the bride and groom as a couple, I created a small 3in x 4in card specifically for the bride (from the matron of honour) in the colours of the Bridesmaids dresses.

For the structure of the card I have used whisper white card stock x 3 of the same size pieces measuring.

  • length-9.6cm
  • width-7.3cm

One of the whisper white pieces I ran through the big shot using the decorative dots embossing folder (now retired).

As the brides chosen colours for her wedding were, sky blue, gold and white I was able to incorporate all of these with the gold emboss powder, ribbons (purchased through spotlight) and a pearl diamante (non stampin’ up). I also have used the circle stitched framelits for the front sentiment (I have also used the Blushing Bride Ink pad) with the Falling for you Stamp Set.

I had a small collection of doilies from a retired Stampin Up pack with I decided to make use of to make the wedding dress and found the following tutorial on pinterest- Angela Maryland from paperpaws.blogspot.com.au

The inside of the card I have used the versamark stamp pad, gold emboss powder and the heat tool with the sentiment from the ‘Flourishing Phrases’ stamp set.

There are many different ideas that can be personally designed to suit any celebration, this is just but one idea.

Specialised Wedding Card

It has been a while since I last posted a blog, so I thought I best get on it and post some of my recent creations but some I am very proud of! A friend of mine asked if I could create a wedding card for her to give to her sister in law and her husband, which I was only extremely happy to do.

I am a big lover of the colours ‘Night of Navy and Whisper White’ together they create a very sophisticated look when used along with the retired Floral Boutique DSP. The card is C6 size with the measurements as follows in Night of Navy

  • length- 27.8cm
  • width- 16cm
  • centrefold- 10.9- 11cm
  • zig zag indent fold- 6cm, 4cm, 2cm

Using the Night of Navy cardstock as the base (following above measurements) I also have trimmed an extra piece of Night of Navy which measures

  • length- 12cm
  • width-5cm

(an extra piece of Night of Navy was used with the Square Framelits, creating the front of the card.

I have also taken advantage of using the Vellum pearl coloured paper trimmed slightly larger then the Night of Navy.

  • length- 12.5cm
  • width- 5.5cm

Using Whisper White cardstock for the backing and for the inside of the card which have the following measurements (in total you will require 2 of these pieces).

  • length- 15.7cm
  • width- 10.7cm

also for the front zig zag section of the card I Whisper White was used measuring

  • length-15.7cm
  • width-1.5cm

I have also used whisper white card stock to create an extra pop out section (stuck on to the inner first crease of the Night of Navy cardstock. the measurements for this is

  • length- 11.5cm
  • width-9.5cm

(I wrote a poem which I specifically had printed just on A4 printer paper and just cut the image to size.)

For the front of the card I used the Square layering framelits as well as with the Lovely Lace embossing folder on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, measurements below.

  • length 11.5cm
  • width-4.5cm

The Floral Boutique DSP used  for the front of the card measures

  • length-10.3cm
  • width-15.3cm

The  front zig zag section is

  • length-10.3cm
  • width-1.2cm

whilst the inner DSP section of the card comes in at

  • Length-11cm
  • width-9cm

To complete the finishing product I have used the silver embossing powder, versamark ink pad, heating tool, falling for you stamp set along with a couple of non Stampin’ Up! products- white see through ribbon and a pearl diamante.

Thank you for checking out my blog and please come back again to Tall Journeys

Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop: Birthday Theme

There is always a reason to celebrate, but May brings with it a few of our team members birthdays and who can resist a month of celebrating, gaining that extra bit of wisdom that comes with aging. So tonight I say ‘Happy Birthday, You Awesome Ladies!’ (you know who you are.)

I have created quite a few birthday cards that to be honest I am in love with! the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP although is now retired seems to be my ultimate favourite at the moment.

  • Cupcakes and Carousel DSP with the corresponding cardstock along with whisper white paper.
  • Square stitched framelits
  • Triple banner punch
  • Birthday Delivery stamp set
  • Inks used- Mint Macaroon and Bermuda Bay.

  • Cupcakes and Carousel DSP again with the corresponding cardstock along with whisper white paper.
  • To create the effect of the doily I have used the daffodil delight ink (I stamped it flat onto the doily with printer paper for the excess ink.
  • Oval stitched framelit
  • Triple banner punch
  • Carousel Birthday Stamp Set and the the Window Shopping Stamp Set
  • The ink used for this card was Bermuda Bay.

  • The new catalogue stamp set and DSP Birthday Delivery Suite has some fantastic things to offer. The set gives you the framelits of the different images but unfortunately the bear doesn’t happen to be one. So if you are like me and get into the spirit a little too much then fussy cutting is the only answer!
  • I used the corresponding cardstock to the Birthday Suite and the new Lemon Lime Twist cardstock along with whisper white paper.
  • Triple banner punch
  • Circle stitched framelits
  • I have used Pacific Point and the new Lemon Lime Twist ink.
  • The stamp sets used were Birthday Delivery and Tabs for Everything.

Once again I have incorporated the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP into my design using the corresponding cardstock with whisper white paper. I have used the layering square framelits and the circle stitched framelit. The sentiment used was from the Window Shopping Stamp Set and it was 3D stamped using Bermuda Bay and Watermelon Wonder Ink.

This type of fold is called a DUTCH FOLD- I saw it on YouTube from Dawn- her website is www.DawnsStampingThoughts.net so if you get a chance give her a look!!

Thanks for reading and looking at my designs, feel free to copy or draw inspiration from them but please if you wouldn’t mind sharing where you cased the idea it would be much appreciated.
